Local author program at the Oak Park Public Library (OPPL).

You may not know that I am an editor and archivist with an Master’s Degree in Fine Art (SFAI) and a BFA from SAIC. I have spent years writing for artists, galleries and, working as an freelance editor and a volunteer Wikipedia editor.

Over the years, it has been my pleasure to add local legends like my dear friend, Peter Sorel, to the wiki database, the Story Corps archives, and find other ways to archive and remember the life and legacy of our neighbors and friends.

Two years ago, I had the pleasure of meeting an astounding local resident, Bonney Rega. Rega has had a long and storied career as an art professor, spiritualist, and chaplain, among others. It was her work as a chaplain that spurred her to write the book, Everyday Miracles: Tales of a Life Beyond.

Personally, I found the book moving and validating and beautiful. In a wonderful program, Oak Park Creates, at the OPPL, I was able to donate and include her book in the library collection for check out.
